Water Quality Instrumentation
For over 25 years we have provided online monitoring equipment for drinking water treatment and distribution systems, and our equipment can be found at hundreds of sites in Western Canada. In addition to the commonly measured chlorine, pH, and temperature, we have instruments for chloramination monitoring, ammonia, phosphate, fluoride, manganese, UVT, and numerous other parameters.

Halogen Systems offers the unique NSF-61 certified reagentless forcemain sensor. Sensors are available to measure free chlorine, monochloramine, pH, temperature, ORP and conductivity, in forcemains up to 147 psi, with 0-4 m/s flow.
The sensor shown here is equipped with a corporation stop to allow for easy removal for servicing, and a sample tap is included for grabbing samples for single-point calibration.
This type of installation completely eliminates an analyzer waste stream, making it the ideal choice for remote sites with no sewer service.

Another unique way of installing the Halogen Systems MP5A NSF-61 certified sensor system is to install a probe in a reservoir. The sensor pictured has been supplied with a long cable, and is placed at the end of a CT tank to monitor chlorine levels. This installation removes the need to purchase or maintain a sample pump, and also eliminates an analyzer waste stream.

Halogen Systems’s compact D20 controller provides continuous display and 4-20 mA output for measured parameters. It may be paired with any sensor installation: forcemain, in reservoir, or sidestream.

The Halogen MP5A sensor has a robust, simple design. All parts of the sensor are accessible by removing two screws at the front of the sensor. Preventive maintenance involves the replacement of the pH probe, impeller, wear ring and cleaning beads (not shown here).

This ProMinent PCM chlorine analyzer platform has been deployed at hundreds of installations over the past 25 years. Any combination of free chlorine, total chlorine, pH and temperature probes can be installed, depending on the needs of the site.

ChemScan’s UV-2150/S series analyzers are used in many communities for chloramination monitoring. These analyzers provide automated, regular monitoring of free and total ammonia, monochloramine and total chlorine, on up to two sample streams. Each stream is analyzed in under 15 minutes.
A ProMinent total chlorine analyzer has been installed here for instantaneous monitoring.

ProMinent’s reagentless fluoride analyzer is used in numerous communities for continuous online fluoride monitoring. It is available on a pre-plumbed panel, or can be custom-plumbed as illustrated here.

ProMinent’s analyzers allow for the flexibility to combine probes for specific measurements. In this case, free chlorine, total chlorine, pH and temperature are measured at the same time. Probes can be installed to monitor different water streams also.

ChemScan also offers the easy-to-use mini chlorAm analyzer for single-stream chloramination monitoring. This analyzer provides free ammonia, total ammonia, monochloramine and Cl:N ratio on a single water stream approximately 22 minutes.

This ChemScan mini analyzer is measuring orthophosphate concentration in drinking water. For communities that dose phosphate for corrosion control in the distribution system, this analyzer provides a simple and reliable option for online phosphate monitoring.

ChemScan analyzers are available for continuous monitoring of UV transmittance. The mini UVT is designed with an automatic chemical clean to handle challenging water conditions – for example, water with high levels of manganese that may colour the measurement cell and impact measurement.
